Kings Hammer Soccer Club Launches Little Lions Program
Program introduces children ages 3-7 to the love of soccer

COVINGTON, KY (June 8, 2020) – Kings Hammer Soccer Club, one of the largest youth soccer programs in the area, is debuting the Little Lions program. The program is available to new and beginner players, introducing children from ages 3-5 and 5-7, to the game of soccer. Each of the eight-week Little Lions sessions are 30 minutes and will be held at your child’s pre-school, daycare or after-school provider and led by Kings Hammer staff.

The pre-school program is for children ages 3-5, who have not started kindergarten. It teaches gross motor skills development and ball mastery. The after-school program is available to children 5-7 who are enrolled in kindergarten through second grade. It teaches ball mastery, passing and receiving, ball striking, speed and agility with and without the ball and one-vs-one.

“Little Lions uses soccer as a tool to help children reach various physical and mental development milestones. The program also promotes self-confidence and fosters the love for this internationally adored game,” said Michelle Okumura, Kings Hammer’s new director of Recreation and Camp director.

Ms. Okumura has been coaching for more than 13 years at the collegiate, high school, and club levels throughout the United States. She came to Kings Hammer from Athens United Soccer Association where she served as director of Player Development. Okumura holds a USSF D License and a USC Advanced National.
