Starting in late May 2019, Kings Hammer Soccer Club will partner with Bluegrass Soccer Club to create a new entity, Kings Hammer Bluegrass Soccer Club. The new club will offer appropriate programs to service the Versailles and Greater Lexington area. Being able to offer these new programs will allow Kings Hammer Bluegrass to create a true development pathway which provides all current and future players with age-appropriate soccer learning opportunities.

Kings Hammer Soccer Club and Bluegrass Soccer Club have a rich history in developing both players and teams who have competed at a state, regional and national level.

Over the last decade, Kings Hammer Soccer Club, which was founded in the Greater Cincinnati area, has become one of the most recognizable youth soccer clubs in the Midwest Region of the United States. Fostering the growth and development of its players, coaches and staff members, have always been of paramount importance as the club has evolved. Kings Hammer Soccer Club operates and manages each program to better serve the players and parents. Player centered approach, partnered with great customer service to parents, has allowed Kings Hammer Soccer Club to create an environment that promotes development, transparency and the pursuit of excellence.

The Bluegrass Soccer Club was formed in 2001 by bringing the Woodford Youth Soccer Association select teams, which had been operating basically autonomously under one umbrella.  The Club’s goal was to provide the best possible environment for young players to develop their skills to the highest level possible and to develop a love for the game, having fun and success.  The Club has always understood that winning should not be the primary focus at the younger ages and what really matters is the skill and technical development of the individual.  Building on this focus with quality coaches and trainers has allowed the Club to have many success stories, both individually and team wise, and become one of the top clubs in Central Kentucky serving the entire Bluegrass Area.

Moving into spring 2019, Kings Hammer Bluegrass Soccer Club has some exciting new program plans to announce. Starting in April 2019 (before the start of tryouts), Kings Hammer Bluegrass Soccer Club, will offer its new Juniors Program, developing young players aged 3-7 years old. The junior’s program will be a 1 hour per week program, that acts as an introduction for your players and families to the new Kings Hammer Bluegrass Soccer Club. In late May, early June 2019 tryouts will take place for all Kings Hammer Bluegrass Programs.

Kings Hammer Bluegrass will offer the following programs for the 2019-2010 season:

  • Juniors Program (u4-u7) – The Kings Hammer Bluegrass Juniors Program is a player-centered program that offers players the opportunity to develop technical fundamentals, balance/agility/coordination, and most importantly a fun and safe learning environment. This can be as a stand-alone program or in addition to recreational team play.
  • Youth Program (u7-u10) – The Youth Program is designed for young players that are committed to the sport of soccer. The primary focus of the youth program is player development. Players are placed on age appropriate pools or teams to allow them to develop in the best environment. These appropriate environments are created to develop and challenge each player based on their current ability. Teams are created through the tryout period in late May 2019.
  • Academy (u11-u19) – The current Kings Hammer Academy Program is one of the highest levels of development environments in the region. The Academy Program provides elite level coaching, facilities and competition to its players and teams. Kings Hammer Academy has produced players that have went on and played at the state, regional, national, collegiate and professional levels. Kings Hammer Bluegrass Academy program will follow suit in establishing a competitive environment that provides teams and individuals with what they need to develop at a high level.
  • The pathway to CDA, FCC DA – Players within Kings Hammer Bluegrass will now have the chance to play at the highest level in the country. Some of the girls will now have the chance to play in the Cincinnati Development Academy and starting later this year FC Cincinnati's MLS Development Academy will be an option for some of the boys.
